Elizabeth RASTRICK 1672-1740

Biographical Note

Daughter of James Horn of Long Sutton, Lincolnshire. In 1692 she married the nonconformist minister John Rastrick who was at this time residing in Rotherham; they moved to Kings’ Lynn by 1701. She had eleven children, of whom six outlived her.

Books

In her will, dated 1733, she bequeathed to her five daughters Sarah, Martha, Hannah, Ann, and Deborah ‘all my Books’ amongst possessions to be divided equally between them. While these might be assumed to be religious in subject matter, their nature and their extent are not known. Her will also referred to ‘the Drawers wherein my writings are kept’, which were bequeathed to her son William.
