Edward DOBBIE fl.1768

Biographical Note

Insufficient evidence has been found so far to establish any confident identification of this owner; his ‘flourished’ date is derived from a dating on the book label noticed below.

He was conceivably an Edward Dobbie, ‘weaver of Glasgow’, who subscribed to William Geddes, The saint’s recreation upon the estate of grace (Glasgow, 1753).

Books

Lee 485 records a printed book label ‘No. Glasgow, 17 Edward Dobbie’, with spaces in which to write an item number and year date; an example is noticed from 1768.
