Thomas BECONSALL 1663/4-1709
Biographical Note
Son of John Beconsall of Lemster, Cheshire. BA Brasenose College, Oxford 1683, MA and fellow 1686, BD 1697. Vicar of Steeple Aston, Oxfordshire 1697. He published doctrinal and philosophical works, being noted as a critic of John Locke.
Books
Beconsall's probate inventory notes "books in the study" as one of the larger items of value. His library was auctioned in Oxford, 20.10.1709, as a joint sale, with the books of Edward Marten.
