Sir George SUTTIE of Balgone, 1st bart, d.1710

Biographical Note

Sir George Suttie of Addingston then Balgone (Haddington), 1st Baronet, was the son of George Suttie of Adinston who was Bailie Treasurer & Dean of Guild of Edinburgh (1622-1653). The Suttie Baronetcy, of Balgone in the County of Haddington, is a title in the Baronetage of Nova Scotia, created by Queen Anne in 1702 for George Suttie.

Books

Used an engraved bookplate (Franks 28586). This anonymous bookplate has the arms of Suttie quartering Semple and was identified by Franks as those of Sir George Suttie who married Elizabeth Semple.

The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
