Biographical Note
Son of Elnathan Lum of Lumville, County Kildare, a wealthy Dublin banker and Irish MP. who moved to Ireland in the second half of the 17th century and bought the Lumville estate. Beyond his marraige to Sarah Heaton, no other details of his life have been traced.
Books
Lum used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 18907). The extent of his library is not known; the bulk of his estate was inherited by his eldest son Francis, created a baronet in 1775.
