Biographical Note

A Vincent Amcotts bought the Harrington estate (Lincolnshire) in 1673; another Vincent Amcotts (1683-1733), presumably his son, was married to Elizabeth Quincey, daughter of John Quincey of Aslackby (Lincs). Their son, Charles Amcotts (1729-1777) later became Sheriff of Lincolnshire, 1753, Colonel of the Lincolnshire Militia, and Tory occupation: Member of Parliament for Boston (Lincs), 1754-61, and 1766-77.
