Thomas MANSELL or MANSELL 1678-1706
Biographical Note
Son of Thomas Mansell of Briton Ferry, Glamorganshire. His education and career are not known, but in 1699 he inherited a substantial estate from his grandfather, and was elected MP for Glamorgan in the same year (he was then MP for Cardiff, 1701-06. His estate was bequeathed to his cousin of the same name, Thomas Mansell 1667-1723, who was also an MP.
Books
Mansell used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks *284); the extent of his library is not known.
