Sir Edmund TURNOR or TURNER 1649/50-1707
Biographical Note
Son of Sir Christopher Turnor of Highgate, baron of the exchequer. Matriculated at Magdalen College, Oxford 1666, but did not graduate; admitted at the Middle Temple 1661. Became a farmer of customs, and surveyor-general of the outports; knighted 1664. On his bookplate, he described himself as being of Stoke Rochford, Lincolnshire.
Books
Turnor used an engraved armorial bookplate dated 1702 (Franks 30015/*355). The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
