Berkeley SEYMOUR 1684-1744

Biographical Note

Son of Colonel John Seymour. Fellow of King's College, Cambridge 1706, BA 1707, MA 1710, senior proctor 1729; admitted at the Middle Temple 1705 (barrister 1711, though it is not clear whether he practised law). He had an estate at Bitton, Gloucestershire, where he spent much of his life.

Books

Seymour used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 26510); the extent and disposition of his library are not known. His brief will has no mention of books; all his property was left to his sister Jane Seymour.
