John NEWSHAM 1673-1724
Biographical Note
Son of Charles Newsham of Chadshunt, Warwickshire, a member of a long-established gentry family there. Matriculated at New College, Oxford 1690, but did not graduate; admitted at the Middle Temple 1693. He was MP for Lostwithiel 1720-22. Part of the landscape park which he created at Chadshunt Hall in the 1710s remains there today.
Books
Newsham used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 21761); the extent and disposition of his library are not known.
