John BEAUMONT d.1565
Biographical Note
BA St John's College, Cambridge 1552, MA 1559, fellow of Trinity College 1560. He became a canon of Westminster in 1562.
Books
Beaumont's probate inventory includes ca.150 books, valued at £11 5s 7d (from a total estate valued at £31 8s 5d). The books are mostly in Latin, with a predominance of theology (including many writings by Protestant reformers). He bequeathed any books he did not already own to his brotherRobert, master of Trinity, two books to each of his pupils, and other specific titles to academic colleagues.
