From Book Owners Online
Thomas MANSEL or MANSELL, 2nd Baron Mansel 1719-1744
Biographical Note
Son of Robert Mansel, MP, and grandson of Thomas Mansel 1667-1723, 1st Baron Mansel, from whom he inherited the title and family estates in 1723, his father having died a few months earlier. He matriculated at Christ Church, Oxford in 1736, but did not graduate; he died aged only 25, and the barony passed to his uncle Christopher, who died only a few months later.
Books
Mansel had a bookplate made for him in Oxford, not long after entering Christ Church. The extent and disposition of his library is not known, but he seems unlikely to have acquired much during his short life.
