Edward ARCHER 1717-1746

Edward Archer's bookplate (British Museum Franks Collection 669)

Books

Two almost identical bookplates dated 1742, Franks 669 and 672 (differing only in their given names, and marks of cadency) were made for Edward Archer (1717-46) and Nicholas Archer (1723-43), the fourth and seventh sons of John Archer of Trelawack, Cornwall (the family later had their seat at Trelaske House near Launceston). The extent and disposition of their libraries is not known.
