Thomas OCLEY or OCKLEY d.1538

Biographical Note

BA University of Oxford 1520, where he spent some time as a schoolmaster; he later moved to Cambridge, where he graduated MA in 1534 and was recorded as pensioner of Gonville Hall, 1535-37.

Books

Ocley's probate inventory includes 106 titles, in 120 volumes, valued at £9 13s 5d (from a total estate valued at ca.£22 3s). The books are largely Latin, with a predominance of theology alongside some classics, philosophy, and other subjects; a few books in English, including an English Bible, were included.
