Peter BUTCHER b.1667?

One of Butcher's bookplates (British Museum Franks Collection 4615)

Books

John Blatchly describes and illustrates 2 early 18th century bookplates (one in Franks, 4615), and a book label, used by Peter Butcher, apothecary of Ipswich, about whom we have few other biographical details; the bookplates incorporate the arms of the Apothecaries Company, although Butcher seems not to have been a member. The extent of his library is not known.
