Richard BUTLER d.1612
Biographical Note
BA St John's College, Cambridge 1584, MA 1587, BD 1594, DD 1608. Vicar of Spratton, Northamptonshire 1591; Archdeacon of Northampton 1611. He became closely associated with clergymen who became leading figures in the emergent Arminian movement, like Richard Neile and John Buckeridge.
Books
Butler bequeathed 19 manuscripts and 2 printed books to St John’s College, Oxford, and left the rest of his books to John Buckeridge. The overall size of his library is not known.
