Robert WHITE 1645-1703

Biographical Note

Born in London; apprenticed to the engraver David Loggan. He became one of the leading engravers of his time, and produced an unknown (but large) quantity of portrait prints, frontispieces, bookplates and prints of all kinds between 1666 and the time of his death.

Books

White's library was sold in London by retail sale, 15.12.1703 as part of a joint sale with the books of "a gentleman of the Temple"; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Courant.
