John CAWLEY 1632?-1709

Biographical Note

Son of William Cawley of Chichester, Member of Parliament and regicide. BA Magdalen College, Oxford 1652, MA 1654, BD 1662, DD 1666. Rector of Bradwell by the Sea]] 1662, of Henley on Thames 1663, Archdeacon of Lincoln 1667.

Books

Cawley's library was auctioned in Oxford; a catalogue survives only for the second part, comprising English books, which took place 27.5.1712, as part of a joint sale with books of Edward Thwaites.
