Biographical Note
Son of Michael Altham of Eastwick, Hertfordshire, clergyman. BA Christ Church, Oxford 1681, MA 1684, proctor 1693, BD 1694, DD 1701. Prebendary of St Paul's 1695, rector of St Andrew Undershaft with St Mary Axe 1697, of St Botolph Bishopsgate 1701, vicar of Latton, Essex 1705, archdeacon of Middlesex 1716.

Altham's library was auctioned in London, beginning 3 May 1732, along with the books of "a person of quality and distinction". No catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Journal.
