William Alexander DODD d.1774
Biographical Note
Known only as a vintner living at the time of his death in the parish of St Margaret's, Westminster. His will refers to his brother Charles and wife Sarah. The Honourable Artillery Company archives have a list of "Captain William Alexander Dodd's Company of the White Regiment, City of London trained bands", of 1773-4, who is presumably the same man.
Books
Dodd used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 8801). The extent of his library is not known; his brief will has no mention of books, which would have passed, with the rest of his estate, to his wife Sarah.
