William PENWARNE or PENWARN b.1710/11

Biographical Note

Son of Thomas Penwarn of Liskeard, Cornwall. Colleger at Eton 1724-30. Admitted as a pensioner at Pembroke Hall, Cambridge 1730; BA 1733/4; MA 1741. Ordained deacon in 1734.

Characteristic Markings

Lee 282 records a printed book label ‘E Libris Gul. Penwarne, Aul. Pemb. Cantab. G.A. 173 .' with the final numeral of the year to be completed by hand; there appears to be an instance from 1733.
