Nicholas Pollexfen's bookplate (British Museum Franks Collection *423)

Biographical Note

Son of Nicholas Pollexfen, of St Stephen Walbrook, London, a wealthy merchant. After his father died in the late 1680s he fell out with his family. MP for Great Bedwyn, 1705-08; excise commissioner 1710-12.
