Richard AMADAS d.1629
Biographical Note
Of Devon. Rector of Hallingbury Magna, Essex.
Books
A number of manuscript and printed books in Cambridge University Library, some of which came there via Richard Holdsworth or Henry Lucas, belonged to Amadas and also sometimes to his father of the same name.
Characteristic Markings
The distinctive annotations found in Amadas's manuscripts, using red ink and a large letter V, are described and illustrated by Oates. He also rounded the lower corners of his pages with scissors.
