William GIBSON d.1613
Biographical Note
Of Norfolk; BA Peterhouse, Cambridge 1603, fellow 1605, MA 1606. He appears to have remained in Cambridge, at Peterhouse, until his death.
Books
Gibson's probate inventory includes a list of ca.85 volumes of books (transcribed in BCI 190, see below), valued at £2 13s, from a total estate valued at £14 11s 2d. The books include a high proportion of classical literature, as well as a number of standard theological texts, a few medical books, an emblem book (Alciati) and a copy of Sidney's Apologie for poetrie. There were also "3 mapps".
