Robert RUSSELL ca.1644-1703
Biographical Note
Fifth son of William Russell, 5th Earl and 1st Duke of Bedford. His education included a grand tour of several European countries, 1660-66. MP for Camelford 1679 and 1681, and for Tavistock 1689-1703; he is not recorded as having been a very active parliamentarian. Justice of the Peace for Bedfordshire in the 1680s.
Books
There is no mention of books in Russell's will; the residue of his goods and chattels was bequeathed to his wife Letitia. His books were sold by retail sale in London by Daniel Browne, beginning 14 October 1703; no sale catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in The Daily Courant.
