Rachel MANNERS, Lady Roos fl. 1700
Biographical Note
Her identity is unclear.
Franks records armorial bookplates (19639; *72 (another impression)) dated 1700 for ‘The Right Honble. Rachel Mannors, Lady Roos’. A clear link to John Manners, Lord Roos is evidenced by his bookplate (Franks 19640) using this plate with the inscription altered. However, Lord Roos was not married to a Rachel, and the dating makes it implausible that this was for one of his daughters, Lady Rachel Manners. Perhaps the name in the plate was a mistake by the engraver.
