William ANDERSON d.1586

Biographical Note

Went to Cambridge from Northamptonshire, where he proceeded BA Trinity College, Cambridge 1581/2, MA St Catharine's 1585, and fellow in the same year. Also in 1585 he was ordained deacon and priest at Peterborough.

Anderson's probate inventory includes over 70 books, valued at £2 16s 3d (from a total estate valued at £53 0s 7d). The books are mostly in Latin, with some Greek and English.They are divided into three sections, the latter two titled 'libri Anglici' and 'Libri philosophici', and their content mostly covers theology, with some rhetoric, grammar and history.
