Biographical Note

Third son of Robert Ker, 1st Marquess of Lothian (1636–1703), he had a career in the British army, commanding the 31st Regiment from 1715 to his death.

The extent and disposition of his library is not known.

His brothers are also recorded as users of bookplates: William Ker, 2nd Marquess of Lothian, and Lord Charles Ker.
