Sir Robert PYE, 4th bart 1696-1734
Biographical Note
Younger son of Sir Charles Pye, 2nd bart, of Clifton Campville, Staffordshire, MP; he inherited the baronetcy and family estates from his elder brother Robert in 1724. Unlike his father and brother, he did not enter Parliament, and little is recorded of his life; the baronetcy became extinct when he died unmarried in 1734.
Books
Pye used two different engraved armorial bookplates (Franks 24353-4); the extent and disposition of his library are not known. His brief will has no mention of books; the family estates were divided between his sisters, subject to a number of monetary bequests.
