Biographical Note

BA St John’s College, Cambridge 1616, MA 1619. Rector of Moresby, Cumberland 1618, of Grasmere 1627 (deprived); curate (and later rector) of Hoole, Lancashire 1639. Fogge was an active supporter of the parliamentary side in the Civil War, and was voted money during the 1640s for services rendered. Held livings in Wales during the 1650s, from which he was ejected in 1661. He remained in and around Cheshire as an independent minister, and was licensed to preach as a Presbyterian at Nantwich in 1672.
