Arthur MOORE d.1730
Biographical Note
Probably born in Monaghan, co. Monaghan; the circumstances of his background and early life are obscure. MP for Great Grimsby 1695-1700, lord of Trade 1710-14; a director of the South Sea Company 1711-14, and involved in financial scandal. His later years were taken up with lavish expenditure on his property at Fetcham, Surrey. Married 1. Susanna Browne; 2.Theophila Smythe.

He used an engraved armorial bookplate dated 1707 (Franks *220).
