Biographical Note
Almost nothing is known of Robert Hunter of Polmood apart from his bookplate. It appears that the Hunters of Polmood were distantly related to the Hunters of Hunterston. Both families had contemporaries called Robert (see Robert Hunter 1666-1734).

Used an engraved bookplate: Franks 15777 Hunter, Robert, Esquire, of Polmood.
The extent and disposition of his library is not known.
