Sir Henry Hoo KEATE, 3rd bart ca.1696-1744
Biographical Note
Son of Sir Gilbert Hoo Keate, 2nd bart, merchant, from whom he inherited the title and family estates in 1705. Little is recorded of his life; he sold the family estate at The Hoo, Kimpton in 1732 and died in Bath, unmarried, when the title passed to his brother William.
Books
Keate used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 16834); the extent and disposition of his library are not known.
