Sir Robert DICKSON of Sornbeg and Inneresk, 1st bart., d. 1711
Biographical Note
Following a career as an army captain, he was created a baronet in 1695 and acquired the estates of Inneresk. Sir Robert Dickson was one of the founders of the Bank of Scotland in 1695. Member of the Scottish Parliament, 1702-1707.
His son was also named Sir Robert Dickson, 2nd baronet, 1694-1760.
