Sir John ERSKINE or ARESKINE, of Alva, 3rd bart. 1672-1739
Biographical Note
The second son of Sir Charles Erskine (1643–1690), 1st Bt., of Alva, Stirling (now in Clackmannan). WikiTree gives his date of baptism as 11 June 1675 in Tillicoultry. He was a member of the Scottish Parliament (1700-7) and of the British Parliament (1707-8, 1713-15).
Charles Erskine, Lord Tinwald (1680-1763) was his younger brother.
