James RIVERS d.1705
Biographical Note
Fourth son of Sir John Rivers, 3rd baronet; he entered military service and fought in the War of the Spanish Succession as a member of Columbine's Regiment of Foot. He was appointed Colonel in 1703 and was killed at the Siege of Barcelona two years later.
Books
Rivers used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks *405); the extent and disposition of his library are not known.
