George EDWARDS d.1712
Biographical Note
Of Henlow, Bedfordshire, an estate which he inherited around the middle or second half of the 17th century. At the time of his death, his will (in which he describes himself as "of Henlow") notes that he was then living in Hatton Garden in London.
Books
Edwards used an engraved armorial bookplate dated 1703 (Franks *457). The extent of his library is not known; in his will, he directed that his "plate [and] household goods both in city and country" be divided between his wife and eldest son George. He also left to his wife "such books and pictures or other ornaments which [she] hath constantly had and used in her closetts both in city and country".
