Born in Leicestershire, son of Archdale Palmer, High Sheriff of Leicestershire. Matriculated at St Catherine’s College, Cambridge 1675; moved to the University of Leiden, where he graduated MD in 1683. Licenciate of the Royal College of Physicians 1683; apparently spent the rest of his life practising medicine in London.

The sale catalogue includes 819 lots, divided between Latin and Greek (466), French and other continental languages (79), and English books (274).
