Sir Thomas MOMPESSON d.1640
Biographical Note
Of Salisbury and Little Bathampton, Wiltshire, son of Thomas Mompesson (d.1588). Admitted at Lincoln's Inn 1588. His son, also Thomas (1630-1701), was MP for Salisbury and a number of other Wiltshire boroughs between 1661 and 1701.
Books
The Armorials Database records half a dozen books, with imprint dates between 1492 and 1617, with a Mompesson stamp; these are attributed to the first Sir Thomas, but it is not certain which family member (or members) it should be associated with.
