Thomas TOWNSEND d.1701
Biographical Note
Son of Edmund Townsend, of Leicestershire. BA Jesus College, Cambridge 1669, MA 1672. Rector of Costock, Nottinghamshire.
Books
Costock bequeathed his books (ca.300 volumes), together with a bookcase, to found a parish library for Costock. Three catalogues were to be made, one of which survives in the Borthwick Institute. The library had been dispersed or destroyed by the late 19th century, and no books are now known to survive.
