Henry Lucius HIBBINS d.1759
Biographical Note
Originally from Holbeach, Lincolnshire, Hibbins was admitted at Gray's Inn in 1726. He was later ordained. He is known for a series of letters in which he petitioned the Duke of Newcastle to help him obtain a living. He was rector of Fobbing, Essex from 1750.
Books
Hibbins used an engraved armorial bookplate (Franks 14678). His will has no mention of books, and the extent of his library is not known. Examples: An account of the Empire of China, 1732, King's College London; Dominic Winter Auctions, 7.9.2022/240.
