A bookplate of "Martin Bedwell, Westminster" (Franks 2035) is assumed to be that of the man of that name "of St Margaret's Westminster" whose brief will was proved in 1730, leaving all his belongings to his wife Ann Bedwell. His library was auctioned in London, beginning 1 April 1731, along with the books of "an eminent physician lately deceas'd"; no catalogue survives, but the sale was advertised in the Daily Post.
