James ROSS ca.1820
Biographical Note
Little is known about James Ross. He was a physician likely from Montrose, Angus, Scotland who died sometime before March 1820.
Books
His library was sold at auction in Edinburgh 1820 by MacLachlan and Stewart. The auction consisted of 924 lots with 440 duodecimos, 363 octavos, and 121 quartos and folios. The library was composed of mostly 18th and early 19th century books, although some 16th and 17th century books can also be found. The books cover a wide range of languages and subjects including natural history, classics, law, medicine, and literature.
