John FINCHER d.1725?

Biographical Note

Fincher has not been identified, although the Finchers were a prominent local family in Veryan, Cornwall.

Books

The library of "the late Rev. Mr. John Fincher, late of V'Eryan in the county of Cornwall", together with the books of another "Rev. divine in Devon", was auctioned in Exeter, beginning 13 October 1725. The catalogue, Bibliotheca Fincheriana, does not survive, but the sale was advertised in Brice's Weekly Journal. There is a possibility that some confusion has occurred, and the library being sold was actually that of Richard Fincher, who died in 1724.
