Anthony MAXEY d.1618
Biographical Note
Probably a member of the Maxey family of Bradwell, Essex. BA Trinity College, Cambridge 1582, MA 1585, BTh 1594, DD 1608. Rector of Hackford, Norfolk 1589, of Horham, Suffolk 1591, of Reepham, Norfolk ca.1595; chaplain to James I, Dean of Windsor 1612. A number of his sermons were published.
Books
In his will, Maxey bequeathed all his books to the "publique library" of St George's, to "chuse and refuse" as they pleased; any books left over, and all his "written books" were left to Clement Kingston, stationer of London. Around 80 books were taken in at Windsor.
