Biographical Note
Hawes was a Gentleman of Covent Garden, London.
Books
Hawes' books were not mentioned in his will, and were sold by retail sale in London beginning 26 October 1720. Advertisements in the Daily Post described the sale as 'Consisting of Divinity, History, Law, Physick, Mathematicks, Voyages, Travels &c. being in most Arts and Languages, Faculties and Sciences, chiefly gilt back or letter'd. With a curious collection of Bibles and Common-Prayers, and Books of Cuts'.
