A series of bookplates were made for "Charles Barlow, Esq., of Emanuel College, Cambridge", some of them dated "173[blank]" (Franks 1478-82). All that is known of him is that he matriculated at Emmanuel College in 1733 as a fellow-commoner, and that in 1734 he subscribed to the second volume of Gilbert Burnet's History of his own time. He may have died soon afterwards?
