James CUNNINGHAM, 14th Earl of Glencairn, 1749-1791
Biographical Note
Second son of William Cunningham, 13th Earl of Glencairn; succeeded following the death of his older brother. Succeeded by his younger brother John Cunningham, 15th Earl.
Captain of a company of the West Fencible regiment; one of the sixteen Scottish representative peers in the parliament of 1780–1784. Friend and patron of Robert Burns.
