Richard KILBYE d.1620
Biographical Note
Born at Redcliffe, Leicestershire. BA and fellow of Lincoln College, Oxford 1578, MA 1582, BD and DD 1596; rector of the College, 1590. He was Regius Professor of Hebrew at Oxford, 1610-20. Prebendary of Lincoln Cathedral 1601; one of the translators of the King James Bible.
Books
Kilbye bequeathed ca.40 books, largely relating to Hebrew scholarship, to Lincoln College, Oxford (list of these transcribed and edited as PLRE 162); his total library would have been much larger. Few of the books can confidently be identified in Lincoln library today.
