John ERLYCHE d.1551

Biographical Note

Son of John Erlyche, burgess and sometime mayor of Cambridge. BA King's College, Cambridge 1502, MA 1505, fellow until 1514. His later career is not known; he was living in the parish of Great St Mary at the time of his death, and apparently retained links with King's College.

Books

Erlyche's probate inventory includes ca.25 books, valued at 15s (from a total estate valued at £49 12s 5d). The books are mostly in Latin or English, and cover a range of subjects including theology, classics, and law. The full inventory is edited as Leedham-Green no.48 (see full citation below).
